Eternal Champions: Path to Glory

 

As a devoted disciple of the Dark Gawds you all know how I love Eternal Champions.  Also you may remember all the way back here I painted some Chaos Warriors for Zhu and he came up with these amazing rules and campaign hooks.  

 

Then JB and Cheetor's Quickening game latched on to my mind and never let go.  The ideas twisting and flowing thru my brain as a warp storm.  I started consolidating my ideas and the works of others till this began to form into a more solid campaign plan.  Which you will see below because in the end...

After a few requests to see all the versions of my Chaos Champion,  I thought it was time to revisit one of my favorite White Dwarf articles on Eternal Champions.

I was searching through Ebay as we do and a certain Plague Monk came up.  He had such a striking resemblance to Master Splinter the idea embedded itself in my brain.  All sorts of scenarios ideas and plot lines started falling into place.  I had to make it happen.

McMeatLoaf Chaos Warlord of the Wastes

 Hearkening back to Steppenwolf....I wanted to make a new character for the Goonies.  Then the other day I was painting a mini that reminded me of Meatloaf....no the singer.  And I thought oh shit why not do an 80s metal character, and then for some reason highlander stuck in my head...."there can be only one......"i was born in the highlands of Scotland"



So I settled on the name McMeatloaf  born on the vastness of the chaos wastes and sent to Graveskul as an ally to Vasken.

The first game I took part in was Whiskey Priests amazing Eternal Champions game.  Where us hero's were pitted against a barbarian horde while trying to stop a demon being summoned.

Oldhammer Comics Presents Another Exciting Adventure

I had intended to play this game solo. BulldogLopez had something else in mind entirely.  What we developed was a crude play by technology at hand battle.  I had everything in my basement.  I would send pictures of the board to Bulldog with added descriptions.  He would then reply by text with what his orders and intentions were for the turn.  Things actually ran very smooth.  It also gave me time in the interlude of waiting for his orders to write the battle report on the spot.  Very helpful that. ;)  Well I hope you enjoy it as much as we did playing it.  On to the ACTION!

The Battle of the Ping Pong Ding Dong

So here is the next installment from our wargaming weekend.  Fought this time between me and Blue in VT.

Vasken has seen these lilly elfs off from Combat Burgers and all he wants to do the rest of the weekend is go back eat and drink himself stupid.  I mean who wouldn't with those hawt ass waitress's

All these Elfs have to do is cross the River Ping Pong and disarm.  It looks like something dumb is about to happen...it always does!

Why oh why can't Black Vasken just go have fun at Combat Burger's...man the life of a chaos warlord is not all it's cracked up to be!

Oldhammer: What's a Tim Prow?

What's a Tim Prow?  I saw this question once asked on the OTC.  I thought it was funny.
Then it got me thinking.  Well what is a Tim Prow?

Vasken before he died and turned to chaos.

The hordes of Black Vasken the Tattered Prince better known as the Goonies are at the moment complete.  I am very pleased with how the army has come together.  edit: I'm adding a new character....then they are done.....maybe. ;)                                               

I have done my best to stick with the spirit of Stillmania.  I think I have achieved this...except coating my army in the layers of gloss varnish! 


I will be bringing this army to Oldhammer Weekend U.S.A. taking on all comers.   Hoping to slay and cause red ruin!!!

Oldhammer Chaos Dwarf Cavalry

If you haven't found out by now I love cavalry in my fantasy armies.  I especially like dwarf cavalry!  Thanks goodness for White Knights brilliant range, though meant for classic good armies.  I now have two units of converted bad dwarfs.  These units can be bulked into a large unit of 16 or can be fielded separate as 8 dwarfs strong.

Oldhammer Chaos Dwarfs

I have had some time to paint up my next two units for my chaos army.  This first one is my new additions to my Chaos Dwarf infantry  bulking the unit up to 24. These can be had here.  Clam just keeps them coming. ;)

So I had time to play another 80's inspired scenario.  This one was thought up by Quindia.  It was a great game.  We thought it would be over after the second turn, and then pure Oldhammer magic happened.  Enjoy!

Mad Mort's Murderous Marauders get a points crunch...Ouch!

Here is Mad Morts warband has recently gone through some changes.  As things now sit  Mad Mort and Wallow lead a rabid band of halflings.  Slaggo the Slaanesh wizard leads the frightful beastmen.  Gen. Karnage the chaos dwarf leads a band of Bavmordian chaos warriors, and More-Slash the minotaur has beefed up to lvl 5!  Sorsha leads a band of mounted chaos thugs.  As things now sit they are around 1000 points.  So should be able to hold their own against the forces of Black Vasken.

Where I convince myself that I need more Chaos Dwarf Cavalry from White Knight

So I have sat and tinkered with my army list yet again.  I think this time we have a winner, fingers crossed.  I have figured and refigured, and refigured to get my full army under 2000pts as per my thoughts on Stillmania. 

Yet I have also manged to raise the number in some of my units most notably my chaos dwarf contingents.  Vollrath's Vandals my chaos dwarf infantry will be raised to 24 figures.  With help from Clam and Delaney King of course and possibly a MM90 purchase here and there. ;)  I have also decided to raise my unit of dwarf cavalry up to 16!

Now we have gotten to the point of the post. For those of you who keep up on these things I did not believe that there were rules for dwarf cavalry anywhere, so I did some points crunching and playtesting an settled on a unit of 8 dwarfs at 150 points with M6 and +1 Save.  Brilliant I know...ugh not so much.  I was looking through 3E the other day and stumbled upon some interesting points that I had not been aware of please look below.  (Right click to embiggen the pic.)

Taking the inspiration from Schusters last stand, and all the talk on the forum and facebook and here He of Three Names about the Alamo got me wanting to play some last stand scenarios myself.
