Eternal Champions: Path to Glory

As a devoted disciple of the Dark Gawds you all know how I love Eternal Champions.  Also you may remember all the way back here I painted some Chaos Warriors for Zhu and he came up with these amazing rules and campaign hooks.

Then JB and Cheetor's Quickening game latched on to my mind and never let go.  The ideas twisting and flowing thru my brain as a warp storm.  I started consolidating my ideas and the works of others till this began to form into a more solid campaign plan.  Which you will see below because in the end...

Steppenwolf redux or how to create an Eternal Champion

After a few requests to see all the versions of my Chaos Champion,  I thought it was time to revisit one of my favorite White Dwarf articles on Eternal Champions.

(How many Vasken's can there be?)

This will be an updated version of my previous article.  You can also see Colin’s blog here.

If you have WD #242 you will remember the article on the chaos Champion Steppenwolf.  If not please look it over below for all your Eternal Champion needs.

Some Spell and Skill cards for my next game

I worked these cards up for some spells and special skills in a game I am running this weekend. With a wrestle-mania theme.  Also my buddy needed some chaos spells he works in TV and Music so thought those top six seemed appropriate.  Check these out for the 80's attributes, and this for 80's scenarios.
Should have some lovely comic reports for you all next week...if work doesn't get to busy!

Let's talk Instantmold...just add water!

I first learned about Instantmold from Orlygg's post on Arcane Armorials.  I was having a bit of a dilemma as well.  I needed two more "like" Battlemasters chaos knight shields.  So I first tried to just make a mold out of greenstuff.  It worked OK but then I remembered reading that post.

So I rushed over to Coolminiornot and ordered a pack...WOW!

I thought I would try a base, a shield, and get bold and try a head.

The face turned out great.  The detail is great.  Obviously the back of the head will need some work, but it will be pretty easy to take care of.  Now I will never run out of heads for Schmendrick!!!  I might have a whole army of them one day.

Next is Space Worg on his new Instantmold base!  I'm going to have a lot of fun with these things.  Run don't walk and get a pack for yourself today.

The New Heroquest Board

So I got my new Heroquest board today!  The old board was good, but I really wanted a change up.  I love how it turned out.  I got all the images from various sources across the internet.  I then did a rough cut and paste jobs, then reskinned it with a comic book wash.  It turned out perfect, can't wait to get some games in on this.

Steppenwolf or How to create an Eternal Champion

A while back Warlord Paul broached the topic of having us all create a character in our own likeness on Google+.  I already had one Schmendrick......but.   If you all have WD #242 you might remember the article on the chaos Champion Steppenwolf.  If not please look it over at the end of the post.

Anyway the gist of the article was that a French GW Francois-Xavier Ngo had modeled an immortal champion who could fight across time and space.  He had a model or two for every game.  With that in mind and Warlord Paul bringing up the subject I set to work making my own Steppenwolf...his name is Schmendrick.

Now the keen follower will remember that Schmendrick is already the name of my Heroquest hero.  Well I needed him elsewhere as well.  So we now have three versions of the character for: Heroquest, Oldhammer chaos, Spacehulk/40K.

He isn't a spitting image of me (he has a bit more hair), but he does embody my persona on the wargame table bringing the pain with his fiery sword Fellmarg!
Enjoy!

Google+ gaming....you should really give it a try!

For awhile now Google+  has been used by rpg groups to host games across the vast interwebs.  I had really pondered on this idea and decided why not use it for wargaming.  So me and Gaj from http://warhammerforadults.blogspot.com/ had been talking and decided to give it a go.  We first decided to get together and discuss the game and just visit, I have never had so much fun talking about Warhammer!  We visited for about 45 minutes before my connection went out, otherwise I think we would have visited a bit longer.

I am very pleased with how they turned out, and was blown away by the thought of the gift!

Dread Banners

I have been having some trouble figuring out what I want to do with my chaos army banners.  For a quick fix I had tried printing off a number of internet images to suffice.  They were not up to snuff.

How I Warband Oldhammer style

So I have been trying to break my gaming partners of the 3000 pt army before I game syndrome. It is tough when you have painters as gaming partners and they would much rather knock out 10 more figures, then play with the five they already have finished.

Then I thought if this is a problem for me it might be a problem for some of you. So I headed to our trusty Oldhammer sites, revamped a couple of the articles with comic life, and printed up the articles to hand out.
