Also it was getting a bit tough trying to hide the terrain joints in the comic reports. I decided on making a 4x4 board to go in the main battle area.
I did this one a bit different and did not frame it with pine or mdf. I just took an inch and a half foam board cut it in half and glued it together to get the right size. I then swept over it with my liquetex light modeling past. Hit it with Americana Driftwood, gave it a wash and arid pasture flock.
I also needed a spot for my aircraft carrier to moor, so built a 4x4 Ocean board as well. For the Water it is just and inch and a half board with liquetex light modeling paste, and blue wash and then 2 layers of clear epoxy brushed onto it as not to spill over the edges. It can get very runny so be careful if you have never used it.
Look at this monstrosity. So glad I was able to budget this room into the new house. All I had to do was give up a garage bay, and the wife got a sun porch.
Then Bulldog Lopez turned me on to a new photo app called snapseed which I am really liking. It allows me to get a very comic filter and lets me airbrush spots as well. I think from now on I will just need my phone for game reports.
Looks like the merchants guild is betting on the jousting lists again
Oh know why did Master Splinter let Rancor out of his cage?
I'm really digging these vibrant colors.
Chunk and Sloth get ready to go out on patrol
Well that's what I've been up too. Till next time M8's!
Looking sweet. I was thinking the same thing about not needing to carry around so much camera gear anymore and letting snapseed do most of the heavy lifting. I also have to look into adobe apps for the phone. I saw one person commenting about using photoshop on his IPhone.
ReplyDeleteYup, not having to carry around the camera anymore is gonna be hella helpful.
DeleteWow, Snapseed is awesome. Thanks for the tip. I also think it's really cool that almost your entire gaming world can be accessed by simply moving to another section of the table.
ReplyDeleteOn gaming days, I imagine you going over to a random 6'section of the baseline and saying, "today, we will start the war from HERE!"
I have tried to keep everything fairly local, but I can switch things around a bit if need be. I do like the idea of that. We are heading north, well lets scroll up and see what happens. LOL
DeleteTruly awesome work bud!
ReplyDeletethanks Don!
DeleteGood stuff, mate!
ReplyDeletemuch appreciated Warburton, :)
DeleteSweet gaming setup. That app really does make the pics more comic-like
ReplyDeleteThanks Anthony, ;)
DeleteI love that gaming room, ABG. It makes me quite jealous - I wish I had a car port to give up!
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for the recommendation about the photo app. Looking forward to your next gaming report...
Thanks Matthew. ;) You're gonna have to come down sometime and bring your orcs to take on Vasken.
DeleteWhat mini is She-Mumra?
ReplyDeleteI can’t remember. Red Riding hood from a super hero range if I recall.
DeleteCool, someone tracked it down as Red Riding Hoodoo from pulp city
DeleteDo you have any more close ups? It looks like you converted her a bit and I really like the post yours has
Yup there you go Pulp City. All I did was get rid of the knife in her hand. I don’t have any other close ups atm. Will try to take some at some point. Thanks for your interest.
