Saturday Morning Space Aircraft Carrier: Progress #12

G'day M8's!  It's time for Boarding Tanks, Fiery Engines, and a Name

First up me and the the good Major had been discussing boarding torpedoes, and I had an old barnyard commandos tank.  So I thought why not have boarding tanks.

Barnyard Commandos was such a fun cartoon.

These can hold about 4 guys or  a troll.  So planning when to board is going to take careful planning.

Also the Major let me in on how he did his engines.  Here I thought I had to paint those effects.  Silly me!!!!

I also got the ships name figured out.  I wanted a Western name to go along with New Texas, Graveskul, and the Cactus Air-force and I settled on the Lone Starr which ties in the Western, Texas, Brave Starr, Slapstick Star Wars, I think it fits rather well
I made some small tweaks but still wasnt feeling this one.
So I went to Comic Life and made this one.  I'm happy and adding the stars gives it a nice little flare.
Next up we need to fill this ship up!

  4. Nice idea to use the lamps for the engine. I also like the comic life name plates. Keep it going.

    1. Lamps for engines is kind of a classic. That's how all the great old sci-fi movies did it. Apparently if you set your exposure right the engines really flare out and look absolutely great. (Probably helps to have good bright lights. Moar batteries, Mr. Grove? Get those diodes cooking?) Makes good photography sense, anyway.

  5. But but . . . there's four stars! :D Awesome! Glad to see you finding more use for those RAM tanks, and Lone Starr is a great name. Now you need some kind of hybrid escort.

  6. Step by step the Lone Starr becomes more and more impressive. We need to think of some rad accessories for explosions and battle damage

    2. Cotton puffs and more LEDs? Maybe in different colors for different kinds of hits? Red ones for conventional shells, green for atomics, blue for warp torpedoes or some such? I've seen cotton and light used well in naval games. Should work for spacecraft carriers too.

    1. They will be fired from the bays like boarding torpedoes. So they wont have much maneuver hence the rotating gun. Pathetic Aesthetic at it's best. ;)

    2. only Orcs would be wacky enough to even try that one! Should be colorful to say the least!
