G'day M8's!
Asslessman really got me fired up about finishing projects that hadn't yet been completed. So I set myself to sweat shop like conditions and cranked these bad boyz out over the last week.
I present to you Skar Toof leader of the Black Toofs...cuz their teeth iz black.
I also owe Cheetor a big thanks, I had kind of toyed with them being kind of war boyish with the warpaint. When I saw Cheetor doing it better, I jumped in feet first, touching up the 10 I had completed already. Then finishing off the rest of the Waaaaaaaagh Boooooooyz!
Skar Toof fancies himself a warlord...but he is more of a raider captain. Don't tell him that though or he will have is bodyguards ruff you up.
Skar Toof commands two squads of ork boyz led by a couple of viscous squad leaders.
He also has some cannon fodder in a squad of Gretchins with some ranged fire power. Paaaaaaanzershkrek!!!!!!
As you can tell I really went for the Fury Road War boy look, much like Cheetor. I feel like his is a lot more artistic then mine. But that goes with the territory of batch painting.
If the squad leaders don't get ya, the boyz sure will. ;)
All ranked up together they really look the part.
I have really grown attached to these little monopose orkies.
Absolutely brilliant! I could spend hours just poring over Paul Bonner's amazing artwork. You couldn't have chosen better source material for your Ork gang. I still have all of these figures in my own collection of WH40K Orks, although not as well painted as yours. The "Mad Max: Fury Road" is inspired. I'm so glad you ended with a big group shot - that is always appreciated. So much Orky goodness here!
ReplyDeleteThanks Bryan!!!
DeleteI love your warband, nice miniatures and nice painting job.
ReplyDeleteGreen + Black + Yellow = Good result :)
Much appreciated Nico. ;)
DeleteBLACK TOOFS!
ReplyDeleteAwesome. They look ready for a hostile boarding action on an **REDACTED**
:)
We can only hope! I was looking at the Mary Shelley post again last night.
DeleteWaaaaaaaaaagggghhhhh!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH! LOL
DeleteOi! Those ar so awusom! Gork (or probably Mork) are much pleased :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Suber!
DeleteNice work :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Warburton!
DeleteI do have a sweet spot for mostly black units and armies and I like those a lot. You combined them into a great characterful unit.
ReplyDeleteThanks JB. ;)
DeletePaul Bonner's orks are the only GW orks imo. So much more character and fun than the boring current style.
ReplyDeleteLove the black warpaint on these. On that light skin colour it looks super mean and intimidating.
Thanks Dai ;)
DeleteI might have a couple of these bad boyz lurking about in da Grotto. Loved these when they were first released back in the day and love them even more now! Great work
ReplyDeleteThanks Gobbo. They have a lot of charm for monopose figures.
DeleteThats a great looking force ABG!
ReplyDeleteAre the bases 30mm or 32mm wooden affairs?
Thanks Cheetor! They are mounted on 25mm round mdf. ;)
DeleteLooking great, I like the addition of the gretchin to the band. I was just looking at the Battle at the Farm scenario and saw some guidelines for tattoos/warpaint for my boyz.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sean! Warpaint is the best it means WAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!
DeleteLovely! That black and yellow combo is ace. I like it best on the guy who wears it best - your yellow-armoured nob :D
ReplyDeleteThanks Axiom! That one was a treat to paint. ;)
DeleteA really intriguing paint scheme :)
ReplyDeleteThanks buddy!
DeleteThis is very, very cool. Well done!
ReplyDeleteThanks Greg!
DeleteLate to the party but that's a great bunch, they have loads of that crazy Ork personnality. Well executed yellow, too
ReplyDeleteThanks buddy! Much appreciated.
DeleteLike some of the others, I love your Black and Yellow combo. It really gives them a desert desperado feel. And orks should always be colourful, although there's so much temptation to make them dun and dirty. Beautiful work, ABG!
ReplyDeleteThanks Matthew!
