Saturday Morning Space Aircraft Carrier: Progress #2

G'day M8's stand by for moawr: Space Aircraft Carrier Progress #2

If you missed the first part have a look here. After trimming down the decks, it was time to sink Snake Mountain into the hangar deck.

Then it was time to get glueing this monstrosity together.  I started with the rafts gluing them to the hangar deck, and supporting them as fest as I could with flexible foam.
I was a bit apprehensive that it would be a little flimsy, however the next morning it was solid as a rock and I could lift the whole thing by just grabbing one cardboard tube.
To say that I was relieved would be an understatement.
Next post I will start planning for the hangar deck build, and figuring out how to highlight the flight deck lane.

  1. This whole project is total madness... but it is the kind of madness I love and is why I keep coming back to your blog, Tom.

    1. Thanks....as I keep going over in my head. I now want to be able to have complete battles through the hangar deck. Think Space Hulk/Necromunda or even a 2000pt showdown. This thing is taking on a mind of itself. LOL

    2. I can envision boarding actions taking place on multiple levels between the KCS Shelley and the Snakey Face. It is going to be AWE-SOOOOM!!!

    4. Ooh . . . and will there be sails for the swashbuckling squat to tear into and ride down on his lightsa . . . er laser swo . . . Dwarves, dave. This is dwarves. Should be a full beardy lumberjack special, so probably a Husquvarna. In any case, there should be rigging. Ropes, battens, things to swing from . . . a little Space Hulk, some Necromunda, and a whole lot of awesome?

    5. At this stage I think I can handle both. Once I get walls up we will just have to see. At the least Close Quaters Space Hulky. I'm not thinking sails at the moment, but you are really tempting me.
