Weekend Photo Dump

So I have been touching up a few projects, just to get things in order.  I noticed while reviewing my chaos army, that a few figures were a bit out of place due to some off coloring.  I took some time and get that remidied lastnigh.  Also painted up Serial Eve as Black Vasken's new vivascious girlfriend.

Also slapped some names on the reinforced terminator squad I am bringing to Oldhammer Weekend USA.  After some discussion on the facebook page over a recent battle report, that included a model of the Alamo.  It has been decided to have a full Alamo in 28mm at Oldhammer day.

Coincidentally, after my last Space Hulk report I had really been thinking of renaming my terminators after an American historical event.  I had actually been toying with Alamo themed names, so when all this discussion happened I had to go with it.

This reinforced terminator squad, will be outfitted with close combat weapons.  As well as crack grenade harness.  This should make them pretty dangerous in an assault or defense.  I also have added in a dreadnought.  The only figure not done is Schmendricks dog Worg which I have but is just idling on the painting table.

Anyway thought I would get these all up for you to enjoy.  Have a great weekend, and keep those paintbrushes tactical. ;)

Raid

I know this is either on the tail end of Oldhammer or not even considered, by whichever camp you belong to.  However I believe this little campaign has its merits.  It still remains one of my favorites.  So thought I would share with you all as well.

You can't ask for much more a campaign background, terrain tutorials, and rough ideas to use different forces.  I remember making those orc huts, and tower as a kid.  I still have the huts and use them still today.

If these one is new to you awesome!  If it isn't enjoying reading back through this nostalgic campaign.

So I will quit boring you and let the articles do the talking....Enjoy!

Grenadier Barbarians

This Grenadier barbarian was my orginal Heroquest hero a few years back.  He has now been retired in favor of Schmendrick.  We also have his barbarian bride from Foundry.

I thought I would show them off next to my Steve Dean barbarian that I won off Ebay.  I can't get enough of these Mark Copplestone Grenadier barbarians!

They are still available from various companies.  The most complete range is done by Mirliton miniatures out of Italy.

Rankin Woodenheart

Here we have a wee hobbit!  I picked this little guy up on a whim.  For some reason I am always drawn to halflings, and will find an excuse to paint one anytime.  It doesn't help that the Hobbit cartoon was one of my favorites growing up.

I went with a pretty simple scheme of brown, and foundry night sky triad.  All the swords in the Rankin Bass cartoons are always white or glowing.  So this little guy gets his glowing when spiders are around!

The fable of Rankin Woodenheart is known to all children of the wee folk. It is a tale of how one's curiosity can get you into trouble.  Rankin was a curious sort of halfling, who was always ranging far about the countryside.  One day he happened upon a sword and shield.

To test his mettle he decided to guard a patch of cabbage against a family of racoons. Swift and sharp was the combat.  Rankin was thoroughly flushed from the excitement, though he was glad he actually hadn't killed any of the racoons.  For his bravery he decided to paint a wooden heart on his shield to remind him that he had stood against many foes.  The tale of his bravery for saving the cabbage spread through out the village.

Then one day Rankin heard of another foe deep in the forest.  It was rumored that a giant spider had made it's home in the Briarwood.  Swelled with confidence and pride from his combat in the cabbage patch, Rankin decided to go investigate.

He gathered his gear, and set off at the crack of dawn....never to be seen again!

Dead I am the dog, hound of hell you cry!

Some folks had inquired about the dog names.  I thought I would post some better pics to show them off.  Massacre and Clawd the 4th Duke of Cuddles will be joining Worg to make up Schmendrick's retinue.

Also got the names from this lovely generator:
Paws for Effect

Also had a bit of fun and painted these hounds up in some wild colored schemes.

My new Skeleton army

Here we have my new skeleton general, and some accompanying swarms of bats.  The second picture is the army arrayed for battle ready to spring from their graves to bring ruin and despair among the scattered villages. Ha Ha Ha.  Ya it's still in the box.  I might actually have to play a game like this.....we will see. ;)

Quindia's Warband Idea

Quindia has a really cool warband idea for Realm of Chaos over on his new Oldhammer blog.  You should really go check it out, and hit the follow button.  Very good stuff.  http://macekiller.blogspot.com/2015/01/maulblade-doomkin.html?showComment=1421757676817#c6543791906461684665

The original OG triple triple OG

So my character Schmendrick as has had a long road of creation.  First he was Aldred the Fellblade.  Then Aldred the Fellcleaver, till I have finally settled on Schmendrick. First he was an Imperial Cavalry general, then he fell on hard times, and turned to banditry and other roguish behavior.  Now he seems to be on the upswing with a small band of followers.  He now clears dungeons throughout the Oldworld.

Getting back into the "Wing" of things.

Not sure why but I have really been getting the itch to get my Deathwing Army on the table top.  I have never actually played Rogue Trader or anything 40k.  so it would be an entirley new venture.  The only reason I have this army is for Space Hulk and I got really inspired to paint them a few years back from site such as:
Vanus Temple- Where I got the display board and objectives.

The New Heroquest Board

So I got my new Heroquest board today!  The old board was good, but I really wanted a change up.  I love how it turned out.  I got all the images from various sources across the internet.  I then did a rough cut and paste jobs, then reskinned it with a comic book wash.  It turned out perfect, can't wait to get some games in on this.

Imbedding with our elite LRRP Recon

Imperial servitor Tarkanus got to imbed with one of the latest recon patrols.  This is what he observed as our boys in blue head out to pull some surveillance on some orks.

"I thought I was imbedding into an elite unit, I mean these guys are supposed to be airborne and shit.  What I found is that they are a bunch of home erotic f*#tards that I wouldn't trust around my own mother for fear of having to call them....Dad?!?

I seriously don't know how our training standards have fallen this far!  I will have to make a vehement report to the commandant when I get back."....

Slow week in the office, means plenty of painting time!

So I have had a little bit of time to sit at the painting table this week.  The ranks of Black Vasken are swelling with new followers.

I have also entered the Oldhammer Legacy Warband 2014 on the forum.  Here is the bard I painted up.

We also have my red owl that i painted up for the 100 painting club on the forum.

As always Enjoy!

New toys and some idea riffing

Got these in the mail today from Daniel Honoré Pryn over on the Oldhammer Trading Facebook page.  Can't wait to get some paint on them.  Looks like Black Vasken's crew is growing a bit.  At least Nigel will get a brother.  I also have a few other goodies on the way as well.  Can't wait!

When you see it it will be the last shadow that you see!

This came in the mail today.  Huzzah!  Hooray!  So a quick little comic for you all.  I will get it painted post haste.

I'm not sure if it will be friend or foe yet.  It might become both we will see.

Also picked these up from warpainter.  After comment from Andrew Dyer on the forum reminded me of them.  I have tried them out, and must say I have found my Devlan Mud replacement!
More to come on the horizon!  Keep those brushes tactical. ;)
