I was searching through Ebay as we do and a certain Plague Monk came up.  He had such a striking resemblance to Master Splinter the idea embedded itself in my brain.  All sorts of scenarios ideas and plot lines started falling into place.  I had to make it happen.

McMeatLoaf Chaos Warlord of the Wastes

 Hearkening back to Steppenwolf....I wanted to make a new character for the Goonies.  Then the other day I was painting a mini that reminded me of Meatloaf....no the singer.  And I thought oh shit why not do an 80s metal character, and then for some reason highlander stuck in my head...."there can be only one......"i was born in the highlands of Scotland"



So I settled on the name McMeatloaf  born on the vastness of the chaos wastes and sent to Graveskul as an ally to Vasken.

G'day M8's!  I have some exciting news for you today.  A joint project proposed by the Governor Gen. of Sector 6 and yours truly.

Bruegelburg day at the fair, and other painted minis

LAFs Bruegelburg miniatures have some of the best civilians on the market right now.  I got these painted up before Monolith-con but hadn't got a chance to post them up till now.  I also got some local wildlife and other nice bits done as well.

Count Grabbo's Henchmen

G'day M8's!  As you know Count Grabbo has really upped his villainous intentions for Graveskul.  With his new army he needs henchmen that will lead his mobz of zombies forth.

Rogue-Ops Comic: Burn the Crops

We played several games of Bulldog Lopez's mashed rules called "Rogue Ops".  If you haven't tried out this variation you should, it's a good time.  I gm'd this one with Bulldog Lopez playing the orks and my brother play Task Force Tomahawk.  I decided to make the Ace's a whole force action just to add some variety.  I really liked it instead of just doing heroes.  The cards can always be re designated for the forces you have i think.

G'day M8's!  Well another Monolith-con is in the books.  What better way to wrap up the weekend then knocking out the first comic report.

Up first is our Saturday Showcase game, of a huge siege in Graveskul on a 16'x4' table.  With defenders landing on beaches, and Attackers using Castle Greyskull as a base.

and has somehow released Nazi Zombies into Adventure Land!

At the moment he is in pursuit of a feral bikini babe, who holds the knowledge of where a Rancor is.

Eternian Flame: Muffman

G'day M8's!  Back in August, Asslessman over at the Scale Creep proposed that we indulge in a bit of nostalgia with a group project in homage to the most heroic of 1980s heroes: He Man.  Well duh if it's He Man I had to be involved.  LOL  I went with a bit of Halloween Horror Slasher Film angle. ;)

Muffman was a forgotten character on a forgotten cartoon from the 80s.  After only his second episode ever, he was abandoned in the woods.  There were rumors and sightings.  Then he was all but forgotten never to be seen again...till now!

I was recently made aware of Meng Models World War Toon line of chibi tanks by my buddy Mustafa, and they looked like a perfect addition to the game table.  When I saw the King Tiger I had to have one.

I got some GI Joe Tomahawks to fly my Spec Squats around.  Finally got a chance to paint them up last night.  I went for the BlackHawk/Chinook look as those are what I used to jump out of. ;)

Son of a Beach!!!!

Well G'day M8's!!!  Things are going well he in the basement.  We got foam, we got poster card, we got flock....lots of flock.  I've been sneezing it up for days. 

Oh what's that monstrosity a photo of???  Well that's the game board I've been working on.  Pretty sweet huh?

Those big orange blobs are explosions.  The idea for aesthetics and to provide a bit of cover for the beach assaulters.

I'm going to build a frame to bring up the back tables.  I can use those shown or any other variation of my previous boards.

That seemed the easiest, then trying to rip the beach boards down with a table saw (Yikes).

Getting things ready for Monolith-Con

November is going to be here before I know it, the way the summer has already flown by.  So I'm starting my plans early while still riding the waves of inspiration I gained while at Boyl.

So with that I've finished up Lead Adventures amazing Astropolis 2.

I'm getting a beach board prepped for a beach landing game.

I couldn't resist and had to put some minis out on the table for some action shots.

Sunday's was an awesome game of Rogue Trader we just threw together.  Whiskey Priest shouted out an objective, and everyone dropped down what we had.  Goodies on one side, baddies on the other.  Then mayhem ensued!

Me-Man and the Masters of the Universe

G'day M8's.  I thought long and hard about what figure I wanted Kev Adams to sculpt a face on....Lol no I didn't...it had to be a Heroquest Barbarian.  He was going to go with the shaved head, but worried about the time, so I said just leave that 80's hair as is mate.  So he got my face with my patented chinstrap beard.

 Now for what paint scheme?  Usually I agonize on something like this but brilliance struck and I knew he had to become Me-man!!!!

The first game I took part in was Whiskey Priests amazing Eternal Champions game.  Where us hero's were pitted against a barbarian horde while trying to stop a demon being summoned.

There and Back Again a BOYL Tale

 

G'day M8's, sit down and grab a pint and I will tell you a tale of high adventure!  This trip has been three years in the making.  We consulted the astral alignments, and knew it was the right time to go.  After traveling about 36 hours with hardly any sleep me and my man BulldogLopez arrived at the Foundry Estates.

High Elfs: Monopose Monstrosity Update #1

Base colors are on and shields have been made!  Waiting on the general till I get some more rank and file work done.  I think I am going to work on the first spear unit, then continue with the reavers, then the general, then the other spear unit, and finish with the archers.  But who knows at this point.  ;)

Then had to wait patiently till their release by Kromlech.

I was really hoping they would have been metal, but the resin is fine and only had a few issues which I took care of with green stuff.

  After reading of the exploits of Lord Teflon I had to start a high elf army for myself.  What better way to start then with some lovely blocks of 4 ed.  mono-pose spearmen and archers!

Over the last couple games Gav had been doing so well I thought it was time to reward him.  I went with armor and a big sword.  The armor negates his trollish regeneration but I couldn't resist.

Moo Moo Minotaur

I have sought the AD&D Minotaur for some time with this head!  The other two always seem to be the ones for sale.  Well I got luck over Christmas and snagged this guy for a great price as he was mislabeled.  I did a bit of conversion work on him to make him my own.

Bruce Gottman...Zombie Killer

G'day M8's one of the jobs I had in high school was working at a saw mill.  Me and my brother both got hired as the nightly clean up crew and the man in charge of us was Bruce Gottman!

Now Bruce was something out of the stone age.  A link between modern man to our more primordial times.  He was skinny and lanky, but his body seemed hewn from granite.  Walking stooped over he looked very reminiscent of Frazetta's image below...

Asslessman really got me fired up about finishing projects that hadn't yet been completed.  So  I set myself to sweat shop like conditions and cranked these bad boyz out over the last week.

I present to you Skar Toof leader of the Black Toofs...cuz their teeth iz black.

I also owe Cheetor a big thanks, I had kind of toyed with them being kind of war boyish with the warpaint. When I saw Cheetor doing it better, I jumped in feet first, touching up the 10 I had completed already.  Then finishing off the rest of the Waaaaaaaagh Boooooooyz!
