Graveskul Watchtower

G'day M8's you might remember me starting a watch tower for Castle Graveskul if not look Here.
Finally got some time to get some nice shots of it.  Enjoy.

I really had fun making this piece, and I really needed something there.
I'm glad I pieced it together and got it done.  It really adds a new use for the spot, and adds some lovely 80s comic flavor.

I used the top piece of the tower from Point Dread and Talon fighter.

I'm really enjoying raiding my old toy boxes, as my mom is cleaning out her basement.
Then a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle periscope.  Not sure which one this was from though.

  1. Best use for a basement clearout. :) Wish I'd gotten to my Millennium Falcon before she gave it away. It was . . . well loved. But it could still have been great terrain. Or this hoth set I had. That could have worked well too. Now I raid Good Will and the Bay instead. Ah well. Anyway . . . well done!

    1. I'm getting some of these bigger pieces of Ebay....there are some decent priced stuff still, just got to sift through the bin prices.

  2. It looks particularly good embedded in the contours of the table like that.

    Nicely done!

    1. Thanks Cheetor! After I glued it down I took the risk of adding a bit more spray foam at the joints. Luckily it didnt spread to much. LOL

Demonstrating, yet again, the awesome use of toys as a source!

  4. Now I am entering a nostalgia fugue over the Talon Fighter. There was a time when that was a long forgotten time in my life when that was the very apex of awesomeness.

Anyway, lovely work! The colour of the stone of the watchtower is perfect.

    1. Thanks Matthew! Ya the Talon FIghter is a cool one. I have one without the legs, but that handle is pretty sweet, especially for upcoming wargames actions. I forgot how handy that was as a kid.
