Foot Vasken

The idea for foot Vasken came from an earlier post on Eternal Champions.  Schmendrick just did not become the army leader I had orginally hoped.  Black Vasken on the other hand has risen through the ranks and has several versions already.

I thought it time for him to have a foot version, and what better time then right after my paint a Trish entry of a rearing Marauder Unicorn conversion.

As you can see I've used a grenadier chaos warrior body, chaos knight head, and the sword from a 4th ed Necromancer.  The frill and any embellishments have all been sculpted with green stuff.

Here we have black Vasken atop his back alley throne.

When he is not doing that he is usually wrestling with giant worms.

And finally with his trusty mount Kringer

  2. Great choice for the base mini Grove! The proportions fit the head perfectly. I like his eyes, the red and green flashes look ace!

p.s. I hope your hands have recovered from all that sawing :p

    1. Thanks Erasmus! Ya I really worked hard in the face on this one. It’s slightly different then the others and it really came through. Ya between this one and the pegacorn sawing my arm is done. Lol

  3. Oh my! That's truly impressive Grove. Vasken is the definition of scary-ass-awesome! And he rides the unicorn! I did not see that coming! :D

    1. Thanks Composer. He is comfortable enough in his evil to ride the unicorn. Lol His story line might be changing a bit to be a follower of Solkan so the unicorn will make more sense under a god of law.

    2. I long ago began to think of Vasken as a kind of almost good-guy chaos warrior. I'd have pegged him as kind of chaotic good, which ain't too Citadel, but works well with the Uni-Khorne.

  4. Your foot version of Vasken is great - he excudes menace, and that crested helmet is iconic! Love his ride too!

  8. Yep, I really like how you don't just have the different visualisation of Vasken, but will modify his profile to better fit the scenario. Very creative and inspiring.

  11. Great conversion and paint. There’s something very unique and retro about your approach to the hobby and the models you make. Reminds me of cartoons I used to watch as a kid in th 80s and 90s (thundercats, He-man etc.).
