BlackHawk Dwarf Down

I got some GI Joe Tomahawks to fly my Spec Squats around.  Finally got a chance to paint them up last night.  I went for the BlackHawk/Chinook look as those are what I used to jump out of. ;)

The original color scheme

Oh ya, I still got it. ;)

That's moawr like it

Here are the pilots and flight crew.

These will be seeing some action very shortly. :)  See what I did there.  LOL

    1. I can't help but notice the American Army seems a very different animal to the British armed forces ;0)

  4. There are so many awesome toys out there to pillage. What a great find.

They look pretty flexible, like maybe they could be modified for shuttling units across space for boardi... SHHHHHHHHHHH

BTW - at then end of my career, I used to jump out of Hueys... kinda 'cuz I'm old, and kinda 'cuz that's the only obsolete crap the Reserve Unit I drilled with had. :)

    3. I am genuinely impressed sir. I missed the penguin first time through, even though its right there, front and center. Indeed yes, it makes it a better photograph.

  6. Grove, these transports are killa! Did you buy these especially for the upcoming game or have you always had them? Old toys were made for wargaming :)

    1. I bought them just with the idea that my spec sqauts needed helicopters. But ya I'm probably goona use them in the upcoming game as well. I never had these as a kid, got them off ebay. They are a bit pricey complete, so I got beat up ones for gaming, and I need to get a really beat up one for a crash site still. ;) I've been looking for old toys since i got back form Boyl. There are some great ones out there perfect for wargaming.

  8. I always envied my friend's old GI Joe Tomahawk. And I believe that's exactly what he ended up doing with it. (Though with Marines, not Squats, but same idea.) Incidentally, this is the same friend who had two (count them two) converted ED titans. From whom I stole the idea, actually. (And from whom I got all my GI Joe parts to date.) Anyway . . . I need more spaceships! Not sure I want to go the Tomahawk route, but it's a classic one. I might just yet. You ought to be able to fit nigh on a company of Squats in one of those. And maybe some armor for support. Probably not a full motorized company, but still, that should hold a lot of love. Even without the very excited refueling probe.

    1. I'm planning on using the one for each combat squad. Then getting a third for a crash site, to go with my medic squad. Not sure I will get heavy support for them, as I see these as a delta,SF,Ranger type force that comes in gunz blazing and gets out. Who knows tho after i get a few games in.

  9. Excellent! Looking forward to seeing how you incorporate these into a game. Though I am left with a vague sense of unease about what that penguin is up to in the photo with the hooters girls.... nothing good can come from that.
