Dark Beardson: the Black Dwarf

For an upcoming game weekend Blue in VT requested that I have an all Chaos Dwarf army.


  I accepted the challenge, but who was evil and dastardly enough to lead this miniature army?


I immediately thought of using the Marauder Unreleased Dwarf General pony. Then decided to make a dwarfish Black Vasken I've named Dark Beardson.

The first thing would be tracking down of the unreleased Marauder Generals.  Once in a while they will pop up on Ebay but mostly recasts.  The more I look at this one I really think it's an original but will leave that debate up to the collector types.  Either way I got a fantastic cast.


To further the challenge I decided to use as many Marauder miniature parts as I could.  So decided on the MM90 Chaos Dwarf for the torso, a lance from a Marauder Chaos Knight, and of course the Unreleased Marauder pony.

      HAHAHAHA How many do I need? I have ideas for a couple more units, but they will need some professional sculpting work, which sets me up with some long term goals. ;)

    That gives you a whole lot of options in terms of cav, what direction could you go in next?
    Maybe a siege artillery train?

      I don’t know about that. I like to think of them as a fast moving force. But you never know. The next addition is pretty sweet tho. Stay tuned.

    He's perfect really. That terrifying skull mask combined with the over-sized plume gives him huge presence - more than his dwarfish stature would otherwise. I like the subtle unicorn horn you added to the steed, even if that pony isn't likely to be defecating rainbows (I suspect something much less pleasant).

    Look like blad critters were smoking blunts all night long.

    And now the deep throat service: dat skull looks solid. Tho the point you may be on the fence thinking about it being a war mask or just his face after too much chaos afterparties.
