Bone Tithe Nexus

The Ossiarch tithemasters often demand their grisly bounty be left at designated nexuses of power. The soul energy and raw bone of these sites can be drawn upon to heal nearby Ossiarch constructs. If the vassals and mortals nearby refuse the tithe or break contract, the statue at the nexus’ heart lets loose its deadly gaze.

This terrain piece casts its deadly gaze over the battlefield and punishes any who defy the will of Nagash.

I got this piece to fit my Eternian terrain theme.  I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to finally go with some purple Snake Mountain themes as I have got a lot of Grayskull Green.

I really enjoyed how this turned out.

  1. Very cool! That purple and green combo is excellent, fits very nicely with your aesthetic, and at the same time the more naturalistic bones help to ground the piece.

    How did you paint it?

    1. Thanks! I primed it various shades of purple, gave it a black wash and then drybrushed the highlights. I then dry brushed the bones up to white. When I walked in one day I noticed the over brushes of white looked like mist and it gave me the idea to add green like it was glowing. So basically me rushing and making mistakes gave me the idea to have wispy green glowing around the bones. LOL Hope that helps.

  4. Whilst I think the whole Ossiarch range is garbage for the most part, this kit painted in your “Snake Mountain” (tm) scheme looks bloody good!

What abilities will it get in game?

    1. Ya I'm not a fan of the range, butthis terrain piece is perfect. I see it having several abilities depending on game objectives or whatever is needed. You should no by now my gaming is very adaptable to fit what i need at the moment. ;)

  5. For a second I thought you'd gotten hacked by AoS spammers, but the green and purple make it all good. ;-) *phew* Sorry I doubted you, Grove. This will make a fantastic target, er objective rather in your next game. :)

    2. I respect this about you, sir. Completely and honestly. It's not the age of the toy. It's how you play with it. And you, sir, play very well.

  6. It fits really well, skeletor approves!

I find the bone color clashing with the purple tho... maybe it's me but bones could use yellowing or perhaps purple or green on the nooks and crannies.

    GJ anyways!

    1. I totally get what you are saying. I just chose to make this quick and dirty. Glad skeletor approves. ;)

  7. The Nexus is one of the stand out items from the Ossiarch range.
It has a classic fantasy look, like something from the background of a Conan illustration.

I love your Warhol-via-Eternia paint jobs too, as you know airbornegrove26. There is enough brown in the world already :D
